Greetings from Cannes

I finally did it! I quit my job, got rid of my apartment and sold my car! I got rid of my comfortable life in sunny LA in pursuit of my dreams. My dream to be my own boss, my dream to pursue my own creative projects, my dream to spend more time with my French boyfriend.

The first week abroad was a whirlwind. I stepped off the plane and went directly into sales mode to promote my short documentary, The Meaning of Life, at the Cannes Film Festival. Thanks to all who submitted videos.

So now what? Now is the time to take my dreams and my project to the next level. I'm currently raising money to film the feature length version. To expand on this theme, the Meaning of Life. Shooting begins in August and I couldn't be more passionate about exploring these ideas with people from all over the world.

But I need your help! If you think this theme is a valid one, contribute as little as $1 to help see the film to fruition. In return, you will be given copies of the film, movie posters, executive producer credits, etc.

Thank you for your continued support and check back often for updates from abroad~

An End to Fear and Doubt

New Years is a time for resolutions and I have many. One is a newfound dedication to end Fear and Doubt. We all doubt ourselves and fear not only failure, but success. So counter-intuitive, but so true. So I start the New Year out psyched and ready to conquer anything that comes my way.

Cut to the very next day. Fear creeps in. What if this happens, and what if this doesn’t happen? But this time I realized the feeling. Felt it deeply, meditated on it, sat with it and asked it to stay awhile. For me, fear grips me right below the rib cage. My muscles tense slightly and my heart races. What does fear feel like for you?

Once you truly feel it, recognize it, you can embrace it. And then it vanishes as fast as it came. Facing fear and doubt head on actually brings empowerment. But fear plans its eminent return and that’s okay. I’m ready for it. Ready to embrace it, ready to transcend it, ready to turn it into power.

I choose to accept my fate as it unfolds, which brings an end to fear and doubt. And so for life my heart glows with so much enthusiasm, it could elevate me to heaven~

Synchronicité

I've been watching a lot of French movies lately that explore a common theme: the idea that the smallest of events can greatly affect the rest of your life. And the power strangers have over these events. But really, they're not strangers. You might not know them, but it's pretty much guaranteed that someone you have come in contact with has come in contact with them. And these life-changing events are seemingly predetermined. Ce qui doit arriver arrive. Call it what you will; Destinée, Sort (Fate), or my favorite, Synchronicité.

Let's say that this French cinematic way of looking at the chaotic world we live in is spot on and destiny really does exist. Sometimes I do feel like more of a passenger in my life than the driver. Better yet, I'm on cruise control. Waiting for universal guidance on what actions to take eliminates unnecessary work and helps me create things easily and effortlessly. I watch for little life clues to show me the way. But nothing is overnight and the natural order of being is wider than our personal plans.

This is where you come in and take the role of almighty co-creator of your life. Plant the seeds of what you want, tend to your garden and watch it bloom. When the Universe serves up one of these moments, rise to the occasion and meet it half way. Manifest the life you want to lead.

But don’t be attached to any outcome. Remember those strangers who aren’t really strangers at all? They really do affect the ebbs and flows around you, whether you realize it or not. We are all connected and affect each other’s destinies. So smile and meet eyes with those strangers, they might just affect the rest of your life in ways you could only dream of.

Look for signs of synchronicity unfolding~

Cultivating the Artistic Energy

An amazing artistic energy surrounds me, flows inside me. I constantly feel the need to create, express and engage the world through images and stories. The beauty of this energy is that I take it with me wherever I go. No one can take it away from me. It has been with me all my life and it grows every day.

But I do not own this energy. It owns me. And I will continue to obey it, develop it, and cultivate it. No matter where in the world I am~
